We have received some questions on the mapping of fields between MicroBiz and FastBound - and on what values should be used in these fields. To help create more consistency, we updated the label of the Model field in MicroBiz and

made this a required field for firearms. The Model field now maps to the Model field in FastBound acquisition.

The model field can be found in MciroBiz Product record:

It can be found in the FastBound Acquisition mapping field from additional details tab:

Here are the key field mappings and suggested values:

Model: This field should contain the identification physically marked on the firearm. The Model value entered in MicroBiz maps to the required 'Model' field in FastBound and is a key identifier in the FastBound A&D record. This is a required field in MicroBiz for firearm items (optional for non-firearm records).

Serial Number: This is a unique mark for a specific firearm. The Serial Number field is required for firearms in both MicroBiz and FastBound and is a key identifier in the FastBound A&D record. A MicroBiz product record can have multiple serial numbers attached to it. Each serial number in FastBound is its own unique record.

UPC: This is a 12-14 character code uniquely assigned to a specific product or product variant by the manufacturer. This should be the same for the item across all distributors and sellers. It's typically embedded in a scannable barcode that can be read by a barcode scanner during a sale. This is an optional field in both MicroBiz and FastBound.

SKU: The SKU field is the master record ID in MicroBiz. It is a required field in MicroBiz and also must be unique. The SKU is printed on the MicroBiz receipt/invoice and used as the ID in purchase orders/shipments. While there are no set rules in what value is entered in the MicroBiz SKU field, we recommend that you enter the ID used to order the item from your main distributor. This is often the manufacturer part number (MPN) for the item, or an ID created by a distributor to identify this item. If a manufacturer part number is not available, you can enter the UPC in the SKU field or make up your own SKU. We do not recommend using the model as the SKU, as multiple variants/UPCs may share the same model number.

Product Name: This is a name or description printed on the MicroBiz receipt/invoice to describe the item. This is a required field in MicroBiz, but FastBound does not use the name in its A&D record, so it's not synced with FastBound.
