The integration with FastBound allows you to create an acquisition and disposition of a customer-owned firearm during a gunsmithing work order.

Assumptions:

  • Firearm is being dropped off and picked up by the same party
  • Firearm stored at FFL is not considered part of the store's inventory
  • A 4473 is not required

Step One: Add Service Item and Create an Open Work Order

1. Create a new work order

2. Attach a customer (required)

3. Check in a customer-own firearm using the Service Item module.  You can either create a new firearm, or search and attach firearms previously checked in by the customer.

Service Item Check in form fields:

  • Service Item/Model - This should be the model number as stamped on the firearm.  This field will be synced to FastBound as the model number in the acquisition.
  • Description/name - This should be the description to help you identify the item.  This will not be synced to FastBound.
  • Item ID/Serial Number - This will be synced to FastBound as the serial number of the firearm.

4. Add a product or service to the order (required).  This can be an estimated charge, or you can create a zero value service to the work order

5. Save as an Open Order

Once a work order with a service Item and product/servce is saved as a Open Order, you will see a yellow "Start Acquisition" button.

Trouble shooting

If you do not see the 'Start Acquisition' button, please check that you have 1) added a service item, 2) added a product or service to the work order (even if its a zero value service), and 3) saved the work order as an Open Order.
