This article will discuss the steps to pair a Payroc payment terminal with MicroBiz Cloud.

Before You Start

1) Confirm the terminal's compatibility with eConduit gateway software - MicroBiz software connects with several terminal models sold by Payroc using a software application named eConduit, which is owned and supported by Payroc.   The specific terminal model sold by Payroc should not matter as long as its supported by Payroc with their eConduit software.  Please contact your Payroc rep if you have any questions whether the terminal provided is supported by eConduit.

2) Gather required materials - Be sure to have the following available before starting.

  • Ethernet cable long enough to reach from the terminal to your router/hub. This applies only when the terminal must be connected via ETHERNET. Some terminals offers the WIFI option and you may use it to connect your terminal with internet.
  • Your terminal's 'Reference ID' (This ID is provided by MicroBiz support.  Please contact us for your ID before starting with the connection set up)
  • Access to the Company information entered in the MicroBiz Store settings.

Step One - Connect Terminal to the Internet to Confirm Registration with Payroc

To begin, take the Ethernet cable and plug one end into your router/network hub and the other end into the input slot for the terminal (see example below).  If your device support wireless connectivity, follow the instructions to connect the terminal to your wireless network. In both cases you Payroc representative may assist you with both connections. If you have problems connecting the terminal to the internet via WIFI please contact your Payroc representative for assistance because the procedure change from one terminal to another and sometimes an admin password is required.

Once you have done this, proceed to plug in the DC power cable into either an outlet or you can also remove the power adapter to plug it into a USB port on your machine. If both the power and Ethernet cable (or wireless connection) were set up correctly, you should get a "POS Online" message on the screen of the terminal as shown below.

Troubleshooting: If the terminal does not display a 'POS Online' message, please contact Payroc support.  This usually means that the terminal was not registered correctly with the Payroc processing service before it was shipped to you.   Payroc support should be able to register the terminal remotely.

Step Two: Select Gateway Type From MicroBiz Register Settings Page

If you are receiving this 'POS Online' message, you are ready to pair your device with MicroBiz. To do so, login to your MicroBiz store and navigate to Settings > Store > Registers.

Open up the register you would like to associate the payment terminal. In my example I will use WEB-1. To open it please use the button with the pencil on it

From this screen, find the 'Integrated Charge' setting and select the type of gateway software used to connect MicroBiz to the terminal.  For Payroc terminals, you will need to change the "Integrated Payment" field to "Gateway 1"

Step Three: Enter Terminal and Account Data into MicroBiz

Then navigate to the "Processing" tab found at the top of the register settings tab and press the 'Pair Terminal' button to the right, as shown below.

This will cause the screen below to be displayed.  You will then fill in the data.

  • Device Serial Number - Enter the serial number of your payment terminal device. This can be found underneath the device (as shown below).  Or this is usually included in the documents provided by Payroc.
  • Account ID - Enter the Account ID that was provided to you by the MicroBiz support team.  If you do not have this ID, call MicroBiz support or email support@microbiz.com.
  • Terminal Type - Select the manufacturer of your device (generally Dejavoo, Pax or Ingenico).
  • Contact - Enter the Company information from your MicroBiz store settings.  This can be accessed in MicroBiz at Settings > Company.  This info is used by MicroBiz to assign your company to your terminal device.

Step Four - Pair Terminals

Once all of this information has been entered, click the  "Pair Terminals' button at the lower right.
