Requirements:
a) To create an Acquisition in FastBound from MicroBiz, the serialized firearm must be received into stock from a MicroBiz Vendor Shipment. You cannot start a FastBound Acquisition from the product record in MicroBiz.
b) Item being received must have a first level category of one of the 'regulated item categories' set up in the FastBound Integration settings or have the 'Is a Firearm' flag checked in the product record Settings tab.
Step One - Receive item into stock
The first step is to add the item to stock via a MicroBiz vendor shipment. Please see the Receiving Vendor Shipments help article for more information how to receive a vendor shipment in MicroBiz.
When you receive an item in a designated firearms category (which you set up in FastBound Integation settings), MicroBiz will display an alert at the top of the page that the Vendor Shipment contains a serialized item. The alert will also display the status of the FastBound acquisition.
Step Two: Press the Record Acquisitions button
You can start your FastBound Acquisition by clicking the gold 'Record Acquisition' button at Action Panel>Shipment Action.
Is the MicroBiz Vendor linked to a FastBound Contact?
The vendor on the MicroBiz shipment must be linked to a contact in FastBound. On the MicroBiz vendor shipment, you will see a small red or green link icon to the right of the vendor name at the top left of the Vendor Shipment screen. If the link icon is red, you can click on the red icon to search for a FastBound contact to link to the MicroBiz vendor. If a FastBound contact cannot be found for the MicroBiz vendor, you must create the contact manually in FastBound and try again.
Step Three: Add Supplemental Required and Optional Firearm Information
FastBound records additional information on firearms that is not needed by MicroBiz, such as caliber and firearm type. Some of this information is required for compliance purposes while other information is optional but retained by FastBound. You can add this supplemental data to a FastBound acquisition directly from MicroBiz without having to switch to FastBound to enter the supplemental data. This is only available for items marked as Firearms.
To enter the supplemental information, press the orange 'Add Details' button.
- If you’ve acquired this item before, MicroBiz will fetch the supplemental data from the last time that you synced this specific SKU/model to FastBound and automatically fill in the barrel length, caliber and other data.
- If the info prefilled in the form is not correct for the firearm being acquired, you can review that last few firearms acquired by pressing the 'Show History' button. This will allow you to select the Supplemental information on previously acquisitions of this model number.
- If this is the first time that you have synced this SKU/model to FastBound, you will have to fill in these values.
Step Four: Publish Firearm Data to FastBound to Create Pending Acquisition in FastBound
Once you have confirmed the Supplemental Firearm Data, you are ready to publish it to FastBound as an Acquisition. To do this, press the gold 'Create Acquisition' button at the bottom right corner.
- If your MicroBiz Vendor is connected to a FastBound Contact – an acquisition will be created in FastBound with a status of 'Pending'.
- If you do not have the MicroBiz vendor linked to a FastBound contact, you will need to login into FastBound to create a contact to then go back and link to a MicroBiz vendor.
Step Five: Mark FastBound Acquisition as Committed
Once the pending acquisition has been created in FastBound, you will be prompted whether to mark it complete from MicroBiz. Clicking 'Yes' will change the status of the Acquisition to 'Committed'. This will allow you to use the firearm in a FastBound disposition and start a 4473.
How can I check the FastBound acquisition record?
Once the Acquisition has been created in FastBound, MicroBiz will display its status and provide a link directly to the FastBound acquistion record. Clicking on this link will take you directly to the firearm record in FastBound for the item or items acquired.
