The attached template can be used to import serial numbers for products into MicroBiz Cloud v2.0 (see bottom of article).


To import data into MicroBiz Cloud, download the attached CSV file, enter or cut/paste information from your vendor or current POS system into the spreadsheet and then import as a CSV into MicroBiz Cloud using the file import wizard (see Settings>Imports>Product Imports>



Settings


What would you like to import? - Select 'Serial Number'


Import Action - Select 'Add New Serial Numbers'


Product Id - In the dropdown, you can select which Product ID will be used by as the master product identifier in the Import - SKU, UPC, Alternate SKU, Item No.  MicroBiz will looking for a matching value in the ID field type selected, and it a match is found add the serial number to the product record.


Store Id - You will need to select the Store ID whether it is the Store Short Name or The Store Number.  This info can be found in you store settings (Settings > Store > Stores)






Key Things to Remember


  • Do not change the template in anyway.  Do not add/delete columns, change the column headings, or change the format from CSV - or the import will fail.
  •  Make sure the product is in stock. The number of items in stock need to be equal or greater than the number of serial numbers imported.  If the total stock of an item on the serial number list is 0 or negative, the import engine will show you an error "no open stock to assign this serial number".
