Please follow this steps in order to enable the Gearfire Payments integration with MicroBiz Cloud:

Step 1: Generate Security Key for Connection

1.- As part of your Gearfire Payments merchant account, Gearfire set up an account with the NMI connection software used to integrate Gearfire and MicroBiz.  To get started, log onto the gateway https://www.nmi.com and generate a security key for your Gearfire account.

  • From your NMI account, click options >> Settings and Security Keys
  • Click the blue 'Add New Private Key' button (not public key)
  • Enter a name for this key – we suggest 'MicroBiz' followed with a dash and then the Register Name
  • Select your user name from the dropdown menu
  • Select/click the 'API' checkbox from Key Permission (and not Cart)
  • Click the green 'Create' button
  • Copy the API key that was created.  You will need to enter this code into MicroBiz.

Please contact Gearfire if you have any issues accessing your NMI online account.

Important Note: The NMI integration is only made available to Gearfire Payments.  This gateway is not to be used to connect with other third party payment processors that do not have a contractural relationship with MicroBiz.  Any unauthororized connections will be subject to termination.

Step 2: Generate Activation Code on Payment Terminal

1.- Plugin in/power on the terminal (Ingenico's tend to be single cable connectors so you would connect the DC power adapter and network cable)

2.-Connect into a single cable that fits into the back of the terminal

3.- Once terminal boots up, it should display an Activation Code on the terminal screen.  Save this code as it will be entered into MicroBiz as part of the set up process

Step 3: Enter Processing Account and Terminal Info into MicroBiz

1. From the backend in MicroBiz, go to Settings>Store>Registers

2. Locate the register that you want to pair with the Gearfire payment terminal and press the 'Edit' button.

3. Go to Integrated Charge setting and select "Gateway Type 2" from the dropdown menu.

4.-In processing tab click register terminal and then enter the following information:

Registration Code:  Appears on the terminal screen after turning on or re-booting the terminal (see Step 1 above)

Security Key:  This is the security key generated from your online NMI account (see Step 2 above)

Terminal Name:  You can enter a name for this terminal or use the default value

Terminal Serial Number: This is the code labeled as 'Serial Number' or 'ISPN' on your terminal (usually printed on a label in the bottom of the terminal).

Step 4: Save Settings

5.- To finish click the 'Register Terminal' button - and you should be done
