To begin creating products we need to navigate to “Catalog”>”Products” as shown below.
From here we can click on “+Add New” at the right of your screen. Once you have done this you will be presented with the menu as shown below.
The image above is your product management screen which is where you should be now. For an item to be created you will need to fill in any items marked with a red asterisk as these are required fields.
We now have a few variables to fill in.
Type in the Product Name and SKU as they are Required fields, These values can be whatever you’d like.
Product Type is either going to be Inventory (Simple Product/Matrix Product) or Non-Inventory Product . An inventory item is for items that you track and non-inventory items are those such as fees, labor and other objects that you may not want to track inventory for.
For now, let’s create a Simple Product. We are going to create a “Simple Item” first so please select this option.
As you can see on the right side of the screen, there is a “Inventory Data” field. You can apply a certain “Update Open Stock” here as we covered earlier. Please fill in the required information on this page and click “Save”. We have now created a Simple Item.
