Most receipts, invoices and other document IDs use the Code 128 barcode symobology, including receipt transaction numbers, work orders, special orders.

All Item SKUs printed on price label tags also are printed as Code 128. This allows any user defined SKU to print as a scannable SKU.

Of course any EAN, UPC, GTIN can be scanned from a non-MicroBiz printed tag as long as the scan code returned matches one of the alternate ID fields in the product record.   This means that if the scanner is going to return the checksum as part of the string it should be in the MicroBiz UPC (or whatever) field.
